| Dear Family and Friends, & Community The Akron Wrestling Club is a 501(C)(3) NON-PROFIT organization created to the development of youth athletes the City of Akron and all surrounding communities within the state of OHIO. There is a great need to help develop a fundamental youth program in the Akron area. The AWC recognizes that Akron has always been a strong force in all sports, especially in wrestlin The city of Akron needs an all encompassing program. The AWC provides a positive, life changing program for the youth athletes in our communities. Our goal is to help develop and assist all youth athletes in the teaching of life skills, building positive attitudes, and personal confidence The AWC is a unique club that caters to all athletes and wrestlers. Our sport specific training, will give our athletes a great foundation for future success in athletics, and academics. The AWC works to help kids stay busy in a positive environment and keep them away from the negatives in the streets. Mental toughness, discipline, intense work ethic, proper diet, nutrition, and a strong emphasis on Education is the cornerstone of the Akron Wrestling Club. The AWC does great things, for the sport of wrestling and all student athletes involved.There are however many expenses connected with running a non-profit organization. We rely on the support of the COMMUNITY leaders like yourself, local businesses, and fundraising events to help fund travel and operating expenses. With the support of the COMMUNITY we can provide: Study & After School Programs, Mentor Programs, Scholarships, Academic and Athletic clinics, Seminars, National Team Competitions, and the overall experience of being a part of a great organization. Since our doors have opened in April 2009 we currently have 63 active members and have had over 200 visitors and representation from the following schools, cities, & townships throughout Northeast Ohio.Schools: Brecksville HS, Chanel, Cuyahoga Falls HS, CVCA, Immaculate Heart of Mary, Mentor HS, St. Vincent St Mary HS & Elm, St. Ignatius HS, Schrop, Stow HS, Streetsboro HS, University HS, Wadsworth HS, Walsh Jesuit HS, Young Elm.

Latest Akron Wrestling Club News 3/28/2012 – AWC Spring Training Program will start this Sunday, April 2nd. The spring program will run from April 2nd thru June 28th. The training will be for Youth, Jr. High and High School wrestlers looking to make that next step up to the state, national or collegate levels. We will train hard and compete in some of the toughest tournaments available. Training will be on Sundays 1-3 and Wednesdays 6:15-8:15 and will be some of the toughest training you will ever see!! There will also be added days as we work up for each tournament event. This training is for ages 6 thru 19 years old and all are welcome. See everyone on Sunday!
